Daytona Slot Wed, 04 Feb 2015 15:32:02 +0000 en-US hourly 1 Microgaming to Release Three New Slots in February Thu, 29 Jan 2015 18:44:21 +0000 more]]> Actually I’m not entirely sure about the February part – Microgaming has not released any official timeline for the three new video slot machines it is working on.

One thing is for sure, though – three new video slot machine previews have been released through Microgaming’s official YouTube channel – and this suggests that the games themselves might be released to online casinos within a few weeks. But enough of the talk – let’s see the games.

1. Loaded HD

Loaded HD will not be a new video slot machine, but a HD remake of Microgaming’s popular Loaded, a five reel, three row, 25 payline video slot machine with revamped visuals and sounds, making it more compelling and entertaining for modern day casino players. the game has been faithfully recreated in HD, with modern functionality to bring it up to par with the contemporary games being released. The new version of the game will finally have music as well – some hot hip hop tunes to avoid it becoming boring, as the original one was.

2. Golden Era

Golden Era will be a five-reel, three row, fixed 15 win line video slot machine inspired by the life of stars in the vintage Hollywood. Loaded with glitter and glamour, Golden Era will take players on a journey to the times when talent was not yet replaced by computer generated images and special effects. The game will offer its players a chance to win big, with two special bonus features and an affordable minimum bet of 0.15 credits per line.

3. Cricket Star

Similar to Football Star, a game released by the developer in the wake of last year’s FIFA World Cup, Cricket Star will be a five reel, three row, 243 ways to win slot machine to be launched in the coming weeks. Inspired by the United Kingdom’s national sport, all the symbols on the game’s reels will bear images inspired by the game – players, bats, balls and so on. The game will feature Microgaming’s Rolling Reels, free spins with multipliers, and enough big wins to allow the game to occupy a special place in the players’ hearts – and not just of cricket fans.

There is no word about when the slot machines will be released, but judging by the developer’s previous release schedule, we can expect them to hit the casinos sometime at the beginning of February. The games will become available through Microgaming’s downloadable casino suite, and most likely also through its Quickfire browser play platform. You can expect them to turn up in the place where you can play the latest slots – at Red Flush Casino among the first – the operator is a long time collaborator of Microgaming

Microgaming’s Game of Thrones, a Disappointment for Fans Fri, 23 Jan 2015 10:38:43 +0000 more]]> Microgaming has built a great slot machine based on the Game of Thrones series, an entertaining game with big wins, nice graphics, a great soundtrack and overall a good value.

slot news

Still, the developer has failed to build a Game of Thrones based slot machine that would satisfy the series’ fans – it lacks the beloved characters from the story, it has no dragons, no knights and fairly any cut scenes. Overall, the Game of Thrones slot machine is not what Game of Thrones fans expected to be.

The developer has built two versions of the same slot machine.

Both of them have five reels and three rows, but one of them has only 15 win lines, and the other has Microgaming’s signature 243 ways to win. Overall the game has everything one might expect from a modern slot machine – wild symbols, free spins, a gamble feature and some consistent wins.

The symbols represent the crests of four Great Houses – Baratheon, Lannister, Stark and Targeryen – along with lesser symbols borrowed from poker (J to A). The game has a wild symbol – the Game of Thrones logo – and a Scatter symbol – the Iron Throne. Two Scatter symbols in any position reward players with a random cash prize, while three to five of them will trigger the game’s Free Spins feature, along with a cash prize up to $6,000.

The game has four Free Spins variants, depending on the House the player selects. Each one has less free spins and larger multipliers – for example, selecting house Targeryen will reward the player with 18 free spins with a 2x multiplier and 6 Targeryen symbols stacked. The base game itself is not that generous – it’s hard to have a winning spin – but the free spins make up for that, big time.

Players have the chance to multiply their winnings through the game’s Gamble feature. For each winning spin players have the opportunity to play a coin toss game, and double their win with every toss. The game has multiple levels – the Three-eyed Raven, the White Walker, the Direwolf and the Dragon – each one rewarding players with a new cut scene from the series.

Overall, the Game of Thrones slot machine is far from being a boring game, and it has its atmosphere, but – as a Game of Thrones fan – I have to say I am a bit disappointed. Back when Microgaming announced the deal with HBO Global Licensing, they promised a spectacular video slot machine – and they did not deliver. Certainly, the Game of Thrones is above average – but far from being spectacular.

You can find the Game of Thrones video slot machine among the red flush casino online slots, and in all other Microgaming-powered online casinos, on desktop, browser and mobile platforms.

The Most Exciting Slots to Play for Fun or Money Thu, 02 Oct 2014 07:46:29 +0000 more]]> Slot machines – an addictive, exciting type of games, offering players loads of fun and entertainment, as well as the promise of huge jackpots. Charles Fey, the inventor of the one armed bandit, probably didn’t even imagine what a huge addition his creation means to casinos – if it weren’t for slot machines, we would only have tens of games, instead of hundreds, today.

All slots are not created equal, though – some are better, others are not. Some have the potential to tie the player to the screen for hours, while losing interest in other is a matter of minutes. In the list below you can find the three most exciting slot machines I have ever played, the ones I had the most fun with.

- Aliens by Net Entertainment

An exciting slot machine, loosely based on the 1986 blockbuster with the same title, directed by James Cameron. It does not have a well defined story – the player can accompany a Colonial Marine into the entrails of a xenomorph-infected, abandoned colony, where he can shoot increasingly strong aliens, and if he is lucky, the Queen herself.

Aliens has some innovative features – the free spins feature is triggered in an unusual way, and it is almost cinematic. The game is greatly atmospheric, graphic and exciting – worthy of playing for fun. Also, it is quite generous when played for real money…

Aliens can be played at casinos like Unibet, Bet-at-Home and Bet365.

- Jurassic Park by Microgaming

Another blockbuster adapted by the Isle of Man based developer Microgaming, released soon after the launch of their Terminator 2 – Judgement Day slot machine. It is based on the 1993 Steven Spielberg movie with the same title, and it features the popular characters of the movie: Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sir Richard Attemborough, and – of course – the most popular creatures of them all, the dinosaurs.

The game offers players a random feature in the form of a T-Rex attack, and five types of free spins, one for each dinosaur species featured in the game. It is exciting and fun to play, and brings back childhood memories. (If you haven’t seen the movie yet, run to the rentals immediately!).

Jurassic Park can be played at, or any other Microgaming-powered casino.

- Gonzo’s Quest by Net Entertainment

An innovative five-reel slot machine based on the character of Gonzalo Pizarro y Alonso, half brother of the famous Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro, and his quest for gold through the jungles of the New World.

The game has great 3D graphics, funny animations and sounds, and overall a great gameplay. It is fun to play for entertainment, and quite rewarding to play for real money as well. Give it a try – you won’t regret it.

The most wanted slots of the year Mon, 04 Aug 2014 13:17:29 +0000 more]]> Microgaming, one of the best rated online casino software developers of the industry, has announced the launch of several great new online video slot machines for this year. The first of them – Terminator II – Judgement Day – has already been launched, and is a very popular choice for casino players of the world. The other two are yet to be released – Jurassic Park hits casinos in August, and the one based on the Game of Thrones will follow later this year.

Microgaming has announced the signing of an agreement with HBO Global Licensing about the release of a video slot machine based on the most successful TV series of the last few years, Game of Thrones, later this year. The announcement was made back in February, and the game is to be released in 2014.

I can hardly wait for the slot to hit the casinos, considering how many stunning visuals and themes there are to be included in such a game. Microgaming’s CEO, Roger Raatgever, has said to be just as excited about this upcoming game as the series’ fans, promising to transform this small screen epic into a masterpiece of a slot machine.

Game of Thrones is the most wanted and discussed TV series of the last few years, having been nominated for a series of notable awards – the Primetime Emmy, and the Golden Globe included. It is HBO’s most popular series of all time. This new game will help extend the series’ presence online, reaching into a completely new realm.

Microgaming is set to release another fantastic online video slot machine in August. It is inspired by the Hollywood blockbuster Jurassic Park, and – judging by the video teaser recently released by the company – it will surely be epic.

Jurassic Park, released in 1993, was a significant film not just for its innovative visuals (that have been rewarded with an Academy Award), but also for bringing the dinosaurs back in the center of attention. Hundreds, maybe thousands of children have left their “Transformers” and “My Little Ponies” to read about these magnificent creatures, and play with dinosaur toys back in the 1990s because of this movie.

The slot machine will be epic, I can’t find a better word for it. It will feature stunning visual effects and animations, and will even bring back memories with the cut scenes borrowed from the movie.

The game itself will be a 243 ways to win video slot machine with five reels, and a series of specials, including five different free spins modes depending on the DNA analysis of a dinosaur (there will be five of them on the reels of the game). Judging by the previous releases by Microgaming, it will be fantastic.

Expect to see the Jurassic Park slot machine at the Euro Palace Casino in August, and keep an eye out for the Game of Thrones one to be released very soon after.

Mega Moolah progressive slot review Tue, 15 Oct 2013 14:32:28 +0000 more]]> The Mega Moolah is a 5-reel 25 payline progressive video slot machine developed by Microgaming, one of the leading software providers of the iGaming industry.

Mega MoolahIt features a Wild symbol that doubles the win when substituting, scatters that trigger 15 Free Spins with triple winnings and the possibility to re-trigger, and a four-tier progressive jackpot, where players can win one of the four progressive amounts available – the Mega, Major, Minor and Mini jackpot starting at 1 million, 10,000, 100 and 10 coins.

Mega Moolah has an attractive African safari theme. It welcomes the player with a short video that sets the scene – huge trees in an African sunset with a great lion walking by and a monkey sorcerer throwing stones and seeds, as if it was predicting the future. Somewhat similar to the setting of Lion King. The game itself has nice and happy colours, sympathetic animals smiling on the players from the reels – elephants, monkeys, giraffes, and the one that players are the happiest to see, the lion. Why? Because the lion is a wild symbol that even doubles the win when substituting. Besides the variety of African animals, a number of poker high cards also appear on the reels of the game. When three scatters – monkeys in the original version of the game – appear on an active payline the player gets 15 free spins, with all winnings tripled automatically.

Mega Moolah features a bonus game similar to a wheel of fortune. This game is randomly activated, and offers the players a shot at the Mega Moolah Mega progressive jackpot, that has a total of at least $1 million, along with the chance to win one of the smaller jackpots featured by the game: the Major, Minor and Mini jackpot of $10,000, $100 and $10 respectively.

Mega Moolah is available in several more versions, with different themes but the same basic setup and the same progressive jackpots.

Mega Moolah – Summertime is the summer beach themed version of the game, with the Summertime logo acting as a Wild symbol. The Mega Moolah – 5 Reel Drive version features the same progressive amounts, a highway and sports car themed version, with the Wild Traffic Sign acting as Wild and the Cop Car symbols used for scatters, triggering free spins. The Mega Moolah – Isis is the latest version of the game, with an Egyptian theme and the same four-tier progressive jackpot as the original game.

The Strategy of Playing Slots Tue, 15 Oct 2013 14:28:56 +0000 more]]> Some people say slot machines are the casino games with the easiest rules that can be played without any knowledge whatsoever – you just bet, spin and wait for Lady Luck to smile on you. Well, this is true – the only basic decision a slots player can take is to spin or not to spin. The outcome of the spins is influenced by only one thing – mathematical probabilities.

slot machines
When it comes to online casinos, though, there are a number of things to be considered besides the action itself of playing the slots – bonuses, loyalty points, bankroll management and even slots tournaments. Not to mention the progressive jackpots that – if won – can essentially change the player’s life.

Comp points and VIP levels
Comp points – complementary points awarded to online casino players for betting – are the online casinos’ way to reward their loyal players. These points – usually called loyalty points, club points or VIP points in most online establishments – can be used for a variety of purposes at online casinos. In many online casinos these points are used for clearing the welcome bonuses. In others they can be exchanged for cash prizes, tournament tokens and such. With the increase of comp points players are usually included in higher VIP categories, that have their own set of benefits – free cash, exclusive tournaments, higher payout limits and more.

Playing online slots is a good way to increase the players’ comp point count, even if the winnings are not huge at all.

Special bonuses for slots players
Many online casinos, especially the ones focusing on online slots, offer special bonuses for slot machine enthusiasts. These can be of different matches on deposits, with wagering requirements also focusing on online slots. These requirements are usually easier to achieve than in case of the usual casino games, as slots offer a much higher speed.

Manage your expenses
This is applicable not just to online slot machines, but to most online casino games and poker – don’t play more than you can afford. This is the best strategy to follow when playing online slots: set your limits for winning and losing and – most importantly – stick to them. A multi-payline high-bet slot machine can empty your pocket in no time if you are not careful. Make sure you don’t pursue a huge jackpot and empty your account in the process.

Although there is not a single strategy that can help you win more at the online slots, with just a little caution you can certainly avoid losing more – and when you count the benefits, it might prove that you haven’t lost at all.

Good luck.

Different types of slot machines Tue, 15 Oct 2013 14:26:34 +0000 more]]> Slot machines have a long evolution behind them. The first, fully mechanical slot machine was designed at the end of the 19th century by a San Francisco car mechanic, Charles Fey. The machine was a simple, three-reel slot with just five symbols on the reels, and could automatically handle payouts for all of its winning combinations. He didn’t know back then but he revolutionarized the gambling industry with his invention.

classic slot machines
Later the slots have undergone several major changes – the first fully electromechanical slot machine was launched in 1963, followed by the first video slot machine in 1976, and the first online slots versions in 1994. The number of symbols, reels and paylines have all increased in the process – from five symbols, three reels and one payline to tens of symbols, up to twelve reels and over 100 paylines on some of the modern slots. Several types of slot machines are still in use at casinos, bot online and offline. Let’s see which are the most popular types.

1. Classic three-reel slots
These slot machines usually have three reels and a single payline. The player must decide how many units – coins or credits – he is willing to bet, pull the lever or press “spin” and wait for Lady Luck to smile on him.

2. Bonus slots
These are a more elaborate version of the classic slot machine – these machines offer bonuses for certain winning combinations on top of the winnings of the pay table. These bonuses can consist of free spins, nudges, bonus games and such.

3. Multi-payline slot machines
These are the best known and most popular slot machines available in online (and offline) casinos. These machines feature multiple reels and paylines – the most popular are the five-reel, 20-25 payline slots. The player gets to decide the amount to be bet on each payline and the number of paylines to be active for the next spin. Active paylines can be increased one by one, and the player also has the option to bet one unit on all of the paylines for the next spin. These games usually offer side games and bonuses to their players.

4. Progressive slot machines
These can be classic or multi-payline slots with different themes, shapes and sizes. All of these slots have one thing in common: they offer progressive jackpots (an amount that can be won in certain conditions that grows after each spin). Progressive jackpots are also of all shapes and sizes, from a few hundred to a few million dollars, depending on the progressive jackpot type (single, inhouse or pooled).

5. i-Slots
The i-Slots are a special kind of slot machines, introduced by Rival Gaming. These machines combine features of the multi-payline, multi-reel slot machines with elements of video games and movies to give its players an interactive and immersive gaming experience.
